How Much Does a HubSpot Consultant Cost in 2026?

Short answer: most HubSpot consultants charge $100 to $150 an hour. Small projects (a report, an audit, a set of templates) have a median price of about $1,400. Workflow, cleanup and dashboard projects sit around $5,700, and full implementations or migrations around $15,000. Enterprise rollouts can pass $50,000. On top of that, HubSpot charges its own required onboarding fee of $1,500 to $7,000 on Professional and Enterprise plans.

Those project medians come from Profoundly's benchmark of 2,000+ HubSpot service proposals and 600+ accepted projects, the only data-backed figures we could find. Everything else below was checked on the publisher's own page in October 2026, and we say where a figure is an agency's own estimate.

What You Pay HubSpot Before You Hire Anyone

Professional and Enterprise plans carry a one-time onboarding fee that HubSpot charges itself. It's separate from any consultant, and it's easy to miss when you're comparing subscription prices.

Hub Professional (annual billing) Onboarding fee Enterprise Onboarding fee
Sales Hub $90 per seat per month $1,500 $150 per seat per month $3,500
Marketing Hub $800 per month, 3 seats included $3,000 $3,600 per month, 5 seats included $7,000

HubSpot's onboarding teaches your team the platform. It doesn't move your data, map your sales process into pipelines, or build the integrations to your other tools. That's the part consultants get hired for.

One thing worth knowing: HubSpot Solutions Partners can often take over onboarding, so the partner's engagement replaces HubSpot's line item on your contract (Avidly, a HubSpot partner, explains how). If you want that swap, you need a certified partner. If you're happy to do HubSpot's onboarding and want someone to build what comes after, any good consultant will do.

HubSpot Consultant Hourly Rates

Who Typical rate Source
Most accepted HubSpot proposals $100 to $150 an hour Profoundly benchmark, 600+ accepted projects
Specialized consultants and agencies $200+ an hour Same benchmark
HubSpot consultants generally $50 to $150 an hour Bootstrap Creative, its own 2026 benchmark (no sample size published)
UK partner retainer, 10 hours a month £2,000 a month (about £200 an hour), 6-month minimum Cogent Connective published rate card, excl. VAT

The clearest signal is the first row. Across hundreds of real accepted projects, $100 to $150 an hour is where buyers and consultants actually land. Rates far below that usually mean someone learning on your portal. Rates far above it usually mean a large agency's overhead or genuinely specialized work, like custom objects or complex Salesforce syncs.

What HubSpot Projects Actually Cost

Hourly rates matter less than total project cost, and this is where the Profoundly data is most useful.

Project size Examples Median accepted price
Small Landing pages, reports, audits, email templates $1,400
Medium Data cleanup, workflow automation, dashboards $5,700
Large Implementations, CMS builds, migrations, integrations About $15,000
Enterprise Multi-hub rollouts with custom objects Can exceed $50,000

The spread inside each category is wide. In the same benchmark, quotes for HubSpot data cleanup ran from $11,000 to $50,000, workflow setup from $5,000 to $75,000, and reporting dashboards from $700 to $30,000. Same job title, very different scopes. That spread is the best argument for a written scope before you compare prices.

Published package prices

A few agencies publish fixed packages. Cogent Connective, a UK partner, lists:

  • Marketing Hub Professional onboarding: £3,000 one-time
  • Sales and Marketing Hubs Professional: £5,500 one-time, up to 30 hours
  • All Professional hubs: £9,100 one-time, up to 45 hours
  • Retainers: £2,000 a month for up to 10 hours, £3,200 for up to 16 hours, £4,000+ for up to 20 hours

Prices exclude VAT. They line up with the benchmark: a two-hub Professional setup lands in the "medium to large" band.

Hourly, Project or Retainer: Which to Pick

Hourly works for small, well-defined fixes: one broken workflow, one report. It's the worst fit for implementations, because nobody knows the hours until the work is half done.

Fixed-scope project is the right model for implementation, migration and integration work. You agree on what gets built, what "done" means, and one price. The consultant carries the risk of their own estimate.

Retainer suits teams that keep changing their setup: new campaigns, new reports, new hires every month. Fractional retainers run about $1,500 to $4,500 a month by Bootstrap Creative's estimate. Watch the minimum term; six months is common.

Our team works fixed-scope only. We review your portal first, then quote one price for the whole job, so you never pay to find out what the job is.

Budgeting Your First Year of HubSpot

Here's what year one looks like for two common setups, using HubSpot's list prices and the benchmark medians above. Treat these as worked examples, not quotes.

A 5-person sales team on Sales Hub Professional:

  • Subscription: 5 seats × $90 × 12 months = $5,400
  • HubSpot onboarding: $1,500
  • Consultant for pipelines, lead routing and a Pipedrive migration (medium to large project): $5,700 to $15,000
  • Year one: about $12,600 to $21,900

A marketing team on Marketing Hub Professional:

  • Subscription: $800 × 12 months = $9,600
  • HubSpot onboarding: $3,000
  • Consultant for lifecycle stages, lead scoring, forms and reporting: $5,700 to $15,000
  • Year one: about $18,300 to $27,600

Year two drops sharply, because onboarding and the implementation project don't repeat. The subscription is the cost that stays.

What Pushes the Price Up

Data quality. Migrating clean data is quick. Migrating five years of duplicates, half-used fields and orphaned deals means cleanup first, which is why cleanup quotes start at $11,000 in the benchmark.

Integrations. HubSpot to Salesforce, QuickBooks, Stripe or your own app is where projects slip. Native connectors cover the simple cases. Anything bidirectional, with custom fields or conflict rules, needs real engineering. Our HubSpot and Salesforce integration guide explains why.

Number of hubs. Each hub adds pipelines, properties, permissions and training.

Custom objects and Enterprise features. These are where $200+ hourly rates show up.

Undocumented workflows. If someone who left built 40 workflows, untangling them before changing anything is its own project.

Questions to Ask Before You Hire a HubSpot Consultant

  • Will you review our portal before quoting? (If they quote blind, the price is a guess.)
  • Is this fixed scope or hourly? What happens if the work takes longer than estimated?
  • What exactly is "done"? Ask for acceptance criteria in writing.
  • Are you a Solutions Partner, and does that change our HubSpot onboarding fee?
  • Who does the actual work: the person selling it, or someone else?
  • How will you test migrated data before we switch off the old system?
  • What documentation and training do we get at handover?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a HubSpot consultant charge per hour?

Most charge $100 to $150 an hour, which is the most accepted band in Profoundly's benchmark of 600+ accepted HubSpot projects. Specialized consultants and large agencies charge $200 an hour or more. Bootstrap Creative's own benchmark puts the general range at $50 to $150.

How much does HubSpot implementation cost?

A full implementation or migration has a median price of about $15,000 in the same benchmark, and enterprise projects can exceed $50,000. Add HubSpot's own onboarding fee: $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional, $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional, and $3,500 or $7,000 for Enterprise.

Is HubSpot's onboarding fee mandatory?

Yes, on Professional and Enterprise plans, according to HubSpot's own pricing guides. A Solutions Partner can often deliver onboarding in its place, which replaces the HubSpot fee with the partner's engagement.

Is a HubSpot consultant worth it?

Usually, if you're on Professional or Enterprise. At list prices you're already paying roughly $5,000 (five Sales Hub Professional seats) to $43,000 (Marketing Hub Enterprise) a year for the subscription. A setup that your team doesn't use wastes all of it. A medium project at around $5,700 that gets pipelines, routing and reports right is small next to that.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency?

A freelancer suits small, defined jobs. For migrations and integrations, pick whoever will commit to a fixed scope with written acceptance criteria and test migrated data before cutover. That matters more than the size of the firm.

How long does a HubSpot implementation take?

In our experience, a single hub with clean data takes a few weeks, and multi-hub rollouts with migration and integrations take two to three months. Our CRM implementation plan has a week-by-week timeline.

The Honest Take

HubSpot help isn't as opaque as it looks. Real accepted projects cluster at $100 to $150 an hour, with medians of $1,400, $5,700 and $15,000 for small, medium and large work. Budget for HubSpot's onboarding fee separately, insist on a review before a quote, and buy fixed scope for anything bigger than a single fix.

If you want that, our HubSpot consulting team starts every project with a portal review and quotes one fixed price for setup, migration, workflows and integrations. If a sync is already misbehaving, start with the $499 CRM integration audit.

Want help with your CRM rollout?

We review your current setup, then take on the parts that stall rollouts: data migration, integrations, automation and training. HubSpot implementations are fixed-scope projects, and broken syncs in HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive start with a $499 audit.
