What's inside

Contacts tab

Name, company, role, status, owner, and follow-up dates. Status and owner are dropdowns, and overdue follow-ups highlight themselves automatically.

Deals tab

One row per deal with value, stage, and expected close. Pick a stage and the probability and weighted value fill in on their own.

Auto-calculating dashboard

Open pipeline, weighted pipeline, win rate, deals by stage, and contacts by status. Updates itself; nothing to edit.

Sensible defaults, easy to change

Six pipeline stages with default probabilities, four contact statuses, and a team list. All editable on the Lists tab.

Up and running in two minutes

1

Download the file

One click, no email required. It's a standard .xlsx file.

2

Open it anywhere

Excel: just open it. Google Sheets: File > Import > Upload. Dropdowns, formulas, and formatting carry over.

3

Replace the example rows

Three sample contacts and deals show the format. Delete them, add yours, and the dashboard starts telling the truth.

When the spreadsheet stops being enough

A spreadsheet CRM is the right tool until it isn't: multiple people editing at once, follow-ups slipping, data scattered across tools. When you hit that point, you have two good options and we build both.

Frequently asked questions

Is this CRM template really free?

Yes. Free download, no email required, free for personal and commercial use. We make production-ready Next.js business apps; the template is our way of being useful to teams who aren't ready for software yet.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Import the .xlsx via File > Import > Upload and everything carries over: the dropdown validations, the dashboard formulas, the conditional formatting, and the chart. It also works in Excel (2010 or later) and LibreOffice.

What's included in the template?

Five tabs: a Start Here guide, Contacts with status tracking and follow-up reminders, Deals with a six-stage pipeline and automatic weighted values, an auto-calculating Dashboard with pipeline totals and win rate, and a Lists tab where you customize stages, statuses, and team members.

How many deals and contacts can it handle?

It's formatted and validated for 200 rows each, and you can extend it by dragging the formats down. Practically, a spreadsheet CRM works well up to a few hundred active records and one or two users. Beyond that, sync conflicts and manual updates start costing real time.

When should I move from a spreadsheet to a real CRM?

Three signals: more than two people need to update it at once, you're copy-pasting between it and other tools weekly, or deals are slipping because follow-ups live in a cell nobody checks. At that point either adopt a hosted CRM (our Pipedrive and HubSpot comparison guides map that market) or have us set up a CRM you own outright.
