The frontend-only kit gives you 40 screens of UI with mock data. This kit gives you 53 routes with a real Supabase backend: 18 database tables with row-level security, Supabase Auth with social login, Server Actions for every mutation, Stripe Checkout Sessions with webhook-driven order creation, hybrid cart that persists for logged-in users, image upload to Supabase Storage, and admin operations that actually write to the database. It's the difference between a prototype and a working store.
Yes. Create a free Supabase project at supabase.com, run the included SQL migrations to set up the schema, and add your project URL and keys to the .env file. The free tier is generous enough for development and small production stores. The kit includes detailed setup instructions.
The kit uses Stripe Checkout Sessions (redirect mode). When a customer clicks 'Pay with Stripe', the server creates a Checkout Session and redirects to Stripe's hosted payment page. After payment, a webhook fires and automatically creates the order in your Supabase database. This is PCI-compliant out of the box and supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major cards.
Guest users get a localStorage cart that works without authentication. When they create an account or log in, the guest cart automatically merges with their server-side cart in Supabase. Authenticated users get persistent carts stored in the database. The same React context handles both modes transparently.
Email/password signup and login, Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth, and password reset via email. The kit uses Supabase Auth with the @supabase/ssr package for secure cookie-based sessions. A database trigger automatically creates a user profile on signup. Admin access is controlled via app_metadata.role.
Everything writes to the database. Create and edit products with image upload to Supabase Storage. Update order status and add tracking numbers. View customer details and order history. Manage discount codes, moderate reviews, handle return requests. The admin uses a service-role Supabase client that bypasses RLS for full data access.
Yes. Deploy the Next.js app to Vercel (or any Node.js host), create a Supabase project, run the migrations, configure your Stripe account, and you have a working store. The kit is designed as a production starting point, not a demo.
Solo and Team licenses are for internal projects. The Agency license allows unlimited developers and client delivery.
