Metricool Alternatives: 11 Options Compared for 2026

Short answer: Iconosquare if you want deeper Instagram and competitor analytics, Vista Social or Agorapulse if you've outgrown Metricool's inbox, Sprout Social if reports go to executives, SocialPilot or Pallyy if you need white-label agency features without a sales call, and Postiz or Mixpost if you want an open source tool with an API you control.

Metricool is one of the best-value tools in social media. The free plan is real, and paid plans start at $20/month billed yearly for 5 brands. Competitor analysis is on every plan, including Free.

People leave for a few specific reasons. White label is a contact-sales add-on. Team and client management only start on Advanced. The pricing page doesn't list user limits per plan. And the pricing page doesn't list social listening at all, so if you need to track mentions beyond your own profiles, you'll need another tool.

Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked October 2026.

Building client reporting or a social tool? Start with the Social Media Dashboard Kit

What Metricool Actually Does Well

Analytics per dollar. That's the headline. Free gets you 1 brand, 20 scheduled posts a month, 30 days of analytics and 5 competitor profiles. Starter bumps competitor analysis to 100 profiles and adds PDF and PowerPoint reports.

The brand-based pricing is the other win. A brand covers one profile per network, so a client on Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok counts once. For small agencies that's far kinder than per-channel billing.

Advanced adds team and client management, customizable report templates, a Data Studio connector, and the Metricool API through Zapier and Make. At $53/month billed yearly for 15 brands, it's hard to undercut.

So be honest before switching. Most alternatives cost more, which means the good reason to leave is a missing feature.

When to Leave Metricool

  1. You need white-label reports today. On Metricool it's a contact-us add-on.
  2. Your inbox volume is high. Community-first tools handle assignment, moderation and saved replies better.
  3. You need listening. The pricing page doesn't list it.
  4. You need a developer-friendly API. The Metricool API sits on Advanced and is framed around Zapier and Make. Several page-one results for "Metricool alternatives" are API-first tools, which tells you developers are looking too.

1. Iconosquare

The analytics-first alternative, strongest on Instagram and competitor tracking.

Strengths:

  • Free plan for up to 2 profiles, 10 posts a month per profile and 1 month of history
  • Launch adds automated reports and an inbox for comments, DMs and mentions
  • Scale adds approval workflows, campaign and paid tracking, and competitor, hashtag and industry trend monitoring
  • Custom adds white-label reporting

Weaknesses:

  • Competitor monitoring starts on Scale, a higher tier than Metricool's equivalent
  • Starter and Launch are 1 user
  • Prices vary by region, so you won't know your cost until you check the page from your location

Pricing: Free plan available. Paid plans are billed yearly and priced by profile count. The page showed euro pricing when we checked and says prices vary by region and currency, so check your local price.

Best for: Brands where Instagram analytics and competitor benchmarks drive decisions.

2. Vista Social

The upgrade for teams that want Metricool-style breadth plus a stronger inbox.

Strengths:

  • Publishing, inbox, reporting and review management in one product
  • Listening across social, web and news as a $75/month add-on, and tracking your own profiles is free
  • Profiles and users bundled into each plan
  • 14-day free trial, no card

Weaknesses:

  • X (Twitter) costs an extra $29/month
  • No free plan
  • The plan table lists 2 to 4 users (the FAQ quotes higher numbers, so confirm)

Pricing: Professional $99/month or $950/year (15 profiles), Advanced $199/month or $1,910/year (30 profiles), Scale $449/month or $4,310/year (70 profiles). Enterprise is custom.

Best for: Small teams that need an inbox and listening in the same tool.

3. Agorapulse

Pick this one if comments and DMs are most of your day.

Strengths:

  • A shared inbox on every plan, with assignment, moderation rules and bulk actions on higher tiers
  • White-label reporting from Standard
  • Ads, ROI and cross-network group reports on Advanced
  • Data retention up to 24 months

Weaknesses:

  • Per-user pricing, far above Metricool's
  • 10 social profiles per plan before extra charges
  • Listening is a separate add-on with no listed price

Pricing: Standard $79, Professional $119, Advanced $149 per user per month billed yearly ($99, $149 and $199 monthly).

Best for: Community managers clearing high inbox volume. See our Agorapulse alternatives for its rivals.

4. Sprout Social

The reporting benchmark, at enterprise prices.

Strengths:

  • Reports clients and executives read without a walkthrough
  • Competitor, tag and paid insights from Professional
  • Sentiment, the Sprout API and helpdesk integrations on Advanced
  • Unlimited social profiles from Professional

Weaknesses:

  • Per seat, and Professional is $299 per seat per month
  • Essentials and Standard cap you at 5 profiles
  • Listening and Premium Analytics are add-ons with no listed price

Pricing: Essentials $79/seat/month billed yearly ($99 monthly), Standard $199, Professional $299, Advanced $399 per seat per month. Enterprise is custom.

Best for: Brands where reports go to leadership and budget isn't the constraint. More in our Sprout Social alternatives guide.

5. Hootsuite

Answers Metricool's listening gap from the entry plan.

Strengths:

  • Brand and competitor monitoring on Standard
  • Professional adds 30-day Quick Search, 90-day trend forecasting and unlimited social accounts
  • Inbox assignment and auto-routing on Advanced

Weaknesses:

  • Per-user pricing from a high base
  • Standard caps you at 10 social accounts
  • Enterprise listening history and compliance features are quote only

Pricing: Standard $99, Professional $199, Advanced $399 per user per month based on annual billing. Enterprise is custom.

Best for: Teams that need listening now and can pay per user. Also see our Hootsuite alternatives guide.

6. SocialPilot

The budget agency pick when white label is the missing piece.

Strengths:

  • Premium includes client management, client approval workflows and white-label reports with no sales call
  • Unlimited client seats on Premium and Ultimate
  • Social inbox from Standard

Weaknesses:

  • Priced by social account, so multi-network clients use up the cap faster than Metricool's brand model
  • Essentials is 1 user with no inbox
  • Analytics are lighter than Metricool's on competitors

Pricing: Essentials $20/month ($17 billed yearly, 5 accounts), Standard $40 ($34, 10 accounts, 3 users), Premium $100 ($85, 20 accounts, 6 users), Ultimate $200 ($170, 40 accounts, unlimited users).

Best for: Small agencies that need branded client reports this week.

7. Pallyy

Priced per brand, like Metricool, with a cleaner agency workflow.

Strengths:

  • Priced per social set (one brand's accounts)
  • Social inbox on every paid plan
  • Clients approve content without a seat
  • Free plan to test it

Weaknesses:

  • Pro is 1 user with no option to add more
  • Free plan is image posts only, 15 a month
  • Analytics and competitor tracking are lighter than Metricool's

Pricing: Pro $25/month (1 social set, $10 per extra). Agency $99/month (10 sets, 3 users, $10 per extra set or user). Scale $199/month (30 sets, 10 users). Yearly billing saves up to 25%.

Best for: Agencies that value approvals and inbox over deep analytics.

8. Buffer

The simplest tool here, with a usable API on paid plans.

Strengths:

  • Clean scheduling UX
  • API access on every plan: 1 key on Free, 3 on Essentials, 5 on Team
  • Team plan includes unlimited members, approvals and branded reports

Weaknesses:

  • Per-channel pricing, which costs more than Metricool's per-brand model for multi-network clients
  • No competitor analytics on the pricing page
  • Free plan keeps 30 days of insights

Pricing: Free for 3 channels. Essentials $5/channel/month, Team $10/channel/month ($60 and $120 per channel per year).

Best for: Small teams that schedule more than they analyze. More options in our Buffer alternatives roundup.

9. Later

For visual brands that want analytics and scheduling built around Instagram and TikTok.

Strengths:

  • Priced by social set, close to Metricool's brand model
  • Link in Bio on every plan
  • Growth adds approvals and the social inbox, Scale adds competitive benchmarking and Meta Ads analytics
  • Analytics history up to 2 years on Scale

Weaknesses:

  • Starter is 1 user, 1 set, 30 posts per profile, and 3 months of analytics
  • Prices shown are a yearly promotion
  • Extra sets and users cost more

Pricing: Starter $18.75/month, Growth $37.50/month, Scale $82.50/month, billed yearly with a 25% off promotion shown when we checked. Extra social sets $11.25/month and extra users $3.75/month on Growth and Scale.

Best for: Creator and lifestyle brands. See our Later alternatives guide too.

10. Postiz or Mixpost (Open Source)

For developers and agencies that want to own the tool, the data and the API.

Strengths:

  • Postiz: open source and self-hostable, with a hosted cloud option and unlimited members from the Team plan
  • Mixpost: Lite is free and open source. Pro ($299 one-time) adds all platforms, workspaces, approvals, an engagement inbox, advanced analytics, plus an API, MCP and webhooks
  • Mixpost Enterprise ($1,199 one-time) adds full white-label branding and customer billing for agencies running their own SaaS

Weaknesses:

  • Mixpost Lite only publishes to Facebook Pages, Mastodon and X
  • Self-hosting means you own API tokens, upgrades and uptime
  • Analytics and competitor tracking trail Metricool's

Pricing: Postiz cloud: Standard $29/month (5 channels, no team), Team $39 (10 channels), Pro $49 (30), Ultimate $99 (100), about 20% less billed yearly. Mixpost Lite free, Pro $299 one-time, Enterprise $1,199 one-time.

Best for: Technical teams that want a Metricool-style tool they control end to end.

11. Build Your Own Social Analytics Dashboard

If the reason you're leaving is "we want reports that look like ours," you may want your own dashboard. Pull data from the platform APIs, or from a scheduler like Mixpost or Postiz, and show it in a UI you own.

What that looks like:

  • Your backend handles platform APIs, storage and publishing
  • The Social Media Dashboard Kit supplies the frontend: 35+ screens covering dashboards for Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, audience insights, sentiment analysis, competitor tracking with share of voice, a drag-and-drop content calendar, a post composer, a unified social inbox and a report builder with PDF and CSV export
  • Next.js 16, Tailwind CSS v4 and shadcn/ui, with Recharts for the analytics views
  • One-time $131 solo

Be realistic: the kit ships with mock data and no backend. You wire up the APIs. It pays off when the dashboard is part of what you sell. Try the demo or browse Best Social Media Dashboard Templates.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best free alternative to Metricool?

Buffer (3 channels), Pallyy (1 social set, image posts) and Iconosquare (2 profiles) all have free plans. Self-hosted Postiz and Mixpost Lite are free beyond hosting.

Is there a Metricool alternative with white-label reports?

SocialPilot Premium ($85/month billed yearly) includes white-label reports, and Agorapulse includes white-label reporting from Standard. Mixpost Enterprise adds full white-label branding for self-hosted setups.

Does Metricool have social listening?

Metricool's pricing page doesn't list social listening. Hootsuite includes brand monitoring from Standard, and Vista Social sells listening as a $75/month add-on.

Is Metricool cheaper than Hootsuite?

Yes, by a lot. Metricool Advanced is $53/month billed yearly for 15 brands. Hootsuite Standard is $99 per user per month and caps you at 10 social accounts.

Is there a Metricool alternative with an API?

Buffer gives API keys on every plan, Planable has a Public API on Pro, and Mixpost Pro includes an API, MCP and webhooks. If you want full control of the data, building on the platform APIs with your own dashboard is the other route.

The Honest Take

Metricool is the value pick in this category, and for most small agencies it's the right tool. Very few alternatives beat it on price.

You leave for a specific gap. SocialPilot and Agorapulse fix white label. Vista Social and Agorapulse fix the inbox. Hootsuite and Vista Social cover listening. Iconosquare goes deeper on Instagram analytics. Postiz and Mixpost give you the code.

Name the gap first, then buy. And if what you actually want is analytics that look like your own product, build the dashboard yourself.
